Drink: 2020 - 2035

The 2005 Barolo Villero is ridiculously great. All sorts of cinnamon, cloves, menthol and other balsamic nuances take center stage. The dark fruit is marvelously radiant, open and expressive, showing superb density and richness. The tannins are of course firm for a wine of this age, but that doesn't get in the way of what is a totally alluring Barolo of the highest level. Violets, plums and minerals ring out on the precise, refreshing finish. Hats off to Brovia for another exceptional Barolo. Anticipated maturity: 2020-2035.
