Robert Parker
Tasted: 01/03/2010
Drink:

Tasted at the chateau at their “-0”vertical. The harvest started on 27th September, a very large crop and quite a good year, the wines a little tannic in their youth. This has a typical '70 bouquet with light black fruit, cedar, some balsamic aromas creeping in, undergrowth and mulch. The palate is actually much better that augured by the aromatics: quite fresh with fine, bold tannins, good acidity with peppery, earthy black fruits, cedar, cigar box and sous-bois towards the tannic finish. I would not be inclined to keep this Gruaud too much longer, but would rather take pleasure in it now. Tasted March 2010.
