Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting in Beaune, the 2013 Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru Clos de la Bussière has a composed bouquet with cranberry and brambly black fruit, the oak neatly integrated here though tightly wound. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannin, cedar-tinged black fruit, a little spiciness here with some dryness just curtailing the creamy-textured finish. There is class here but I maintain that it was not Christophe's best in 2013. Tasted September 2016
