Robert Parker
Tasted: 01/01/1998
Drink: 1990 - 2010

The 1982 vintage, while great for Bordeaux's red wines, is not special for the sweet wines. However, the 1982 Suduiraut Cuvee Madame is a smashing success. Regisseur Pierre Pascaud thinks it is the best wine made at the property since the great 1967 and 1959. Only the grapes harvested before the rains fell were used, and the result is a very concentrated, deep, luscious, honeyed wine, with great length, the buttery, viscous richness that Suduiraut is famous for, and superb balance. If it had just a trifle more botrytis character it would be perfect. Anticipated maturity: Now-2010. Last tasted, 3/90.
