The 2015 Chardonnay Reserve is matured in 70% new oak including some in concrete eggs or 14 months with bâtonnage. It has a clean and crisp bouquet, light tropical notes at first, flecks of white chocolate and almond lending an exotic touch. The palate is well balanced with a fine line of acidity, touches of peach and melon at first dovetailing into a slightly saline finish. I would have liked a little more depth and persistence here, especially considering this is a Reserve. Hopefully it will gain more weight in bottle.
