Bordeaux Red Blend
Chateau Charmail Haut Medoc Cru Bourgeois
WO score is the average of all critic scores for this wine
While it does not possess the power or depth of the 2000, Charmail's 2001, a blend of 55% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 15% Cabernet Franc, is a pleasant, elegant, medium-bodied effort. Drink it over the next 5-7 years.

The 2001, a blend of 48% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot, boasts an impenetrable color in addition to a gorgeous nose of ink, creme de cassis, creosote, and licorice. With super purity, tremendously sweet fruit, medium to full body, ripe tannin, and a long, layered finish, it is a revelation. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2015.
