Very fine traditional domaine run by Laurence Feraud. The Vin de France Plan Pegaü is good and in the traditional style of the property and is released along with a number of Côtes du Rhônes under the Château Pegaü label. The white Châteauneuf-du-Pape is honeyed, nutty and concentrated. The reds are classic, formidably structured wines. Cuvée Réservée is in fact the regular red bottling but is full of impressive super-ripe, dark berry Grenache character and loaded with muscular tannin in its youth. The Cuvée Laurence, which is from the same assemblage, gets a touch longer in cask. The immensely concentrated Cuvée da Capo has emerged as one of the Rhône Valley’s great reds –dense, massively powerful but refined and very pure as well. A second premium red is also now released, Inspiration. The Ferauds are also involved with André Brunel of LES CAILLOUX in a fine négociant venture (FERAUD-BRUNEL) and Laurence Feraud makes her own small Selection Laurence Feraud range.
