As well as his very powerful and muscular Cornas, Alain Voge also produces some of the best Saint-Péray, both dry and sparkling. The Harmonie is unoaked and marked by impressive nutty Marsanne fruit, while the Terres Boisée sees some new oak. The top Fleur du Crussol is amongst the very finest in the appellation. His Cornas vineyards are of increasingly venerable age and this is showing through in the wines with immensely complex smoky dark fruits and black spices emerging in the Vieilles Vignes and Vieille Fontaines bottlings. A very small amount of new oak is used to barrelage the wines, which you should expect to cellar for 5 years or more. A little Saint-Joseph and Côtes du Rhône red is also made.
